The founder of Reliable Scientific was a Field Engineer for a large laboratory equipment maker.  While visiting labs, researchers asked him to make specialty laboratory equipment that was more rugged and dependable than they were using.  After making many specialty lab products, he manufactured a rocking laboratory shaker for gels and blotted membranes.

The rocking laboratory shaker was extremely well built and featured variable speed with adjustable tilt, so the user could achieve the perfect mixing action.  Washing over and under the gels and blots allows uniform staining/destaining and blotting to occur.  Variables such as the size and shape of the container, and the amount of liquid in the container could be adjusted for.  It was superior to orbital and nutating shakers because liquid was not just sloshed around the outside of the container, which resulted in tearing, flipping, and inadequate mixing of the center of the gel or membrane.  Our rocking shaker became extremely popular as all of it's features were recognized, including an outstanding double warranty.

John Newman, the founder, still answers the telephone and answers all e-mails.  Needless to say, we have outstanding customer service.  We will continue our founding policies and look forward to many more years of playing our little part in making the world a better place.
